Will Dr. Yaqub still be taking insurance?
Yes. Insurance will be taken for all medically necessary visits and tests. The annual fee covers wellness visits, including the annual wellness exam, and in-depth discussions. Medicare and insurers require that co-pays and deductibles be collected when treating established diseases.
Why is Dr. Yaqub making this change?
Dr. Yaqub wishes to be able to spend more time with his patients and focus on preventing disease and not just treating a variety of diseases. Also, he would like to be able to offer routine wellness exams, which will enable him to give specific guidance to his patients. These wellness exams are not covered by Medicare or other insurance plans.
How much Is the annual fee?
The annual fee varies depending on which program you choose. Payable at sign-up in one payment, or monthly. For patients, where the significant other is also seen by Dr. Yaqub, there is a 20% discount. Please contact the office to discuss which program fits your healthcare needs.
Can I wait to sign up?
It’s best to sign up sooner rather than later. Dr. Yaqub will be limiting his practice to just a few hundred patients. When this threshold is met, the practice will be closed, and a waiting list will be formed.
Can I cancel my membership?
There is a three-month minimum for membership. After the first three (3) months of the patient’s membership, the patient is permitted to terminate this agreement with thirty (30) days prior written notice.
Will Dr. Yaqub refer me to another internist or pulmonologist?
Yes, if you decide not to join KEY MD Newport Beach, Dr. Yaqub has established internists and pulmonologists whom he will refer you to.

What will accessing Dr. Yaqub be like?
Under the executive health-style model, you will have access to Dr. Yaqub outside of normal office hours. In the event of an emergency, it is essential to call 911. For office appointments, you will be seen upon request either the same day or the next day, depending on the urgency of your need.
