Meet Dr. Kashif Yaqub

Kashif Yaqub, MD Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Lifestyle Doctor in Newport Beach

Kashif Yaqub, MD is a board-certified Pulmonary and Internal Medicine physician with over 23 years of clinical experience. He is a member of the Voluntary Faculty at the University of California.

Dr. Yaqub completed his training at the University of Arizona and the Mayo Clinic. He was selected as chief resident and subsequently went on to pursue a fellowship in Quality and Patient Safety. Dr. Yaqub was selected to pursue a Pulmonary Medicine fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Here he was able to hone his procedural skills and performed bronchoscopies, endobronchial ultrasounds, and navigational bronchoscopies. He was involved in complex pulmonary cases where at times, patients presented for second and third opinions for diagnostic and treatment recommendations.

Dr. Yaqub then accepted a position at the University of California, working primarily in the intensive care setting. Here he cared for patients with complex medical conditions and provided life-saving care. He then went on to practicing pulmonary and internal medicine where he was able to provide whole patient care as well as incorporate lifestyle changes and improve his patient’s overall health.

Dr. Yaqub is an early adopter of precision medicine and new technologies. He has incorporated weight loss medicine, hormone optimization, joint health (including injections and shockwave therapy), and men’s health programs, as well as regenerative medicine, into his practice.

Dr. Yaqub sees himself as an educator and advisor, sharing the decision-making process with each patient. He prefers to take a proactive and preventative approach to medicine, promoting lifestyle and behavior change prior to opting for medications, when possible. The membership-based executive health-style medicine model allows him to spend more time with his patients and tailor his recommendations for optimal health.

Kashif Yaqub, MD lives in Orange County with his wife and children. Aside from his work and love for patient care, he enjoys weight training, traveling, and spending time with his family. He previously played competitive squash and continues to play recreationally.
