When Dr. Kashif Yaqub founded KEY MD Newport Beach, he was inspired by the tireless work of his father, Dr. M. Yaqub, who was renowned in his community as a caring and kind physician. He understood the unique needs of each patient and strived to provide the best care possible. Being a surgeon, he valued the time needed with each patient and their families, often going out of his way to take care of the patients’ surgical and medical needs. He treated each patient with the utmost respect and provided compassionate care when patients were most vulnerable. He tailored his practice to a community of real people with stories that deserved to be heard.

When his patients called, he was available, and when they fell ill, he made time for them. He traveled to their homes if needed and guided them through their illness. It was a unique form of practice for a surgeon, who was deeply rooted in the community and dedicated to whole patient care—a vision that is often lost in the complex medical landscape of today. Having witnessed this firsthand inspired me to practice medicine by incorporating traditional values with cutting-edge treatment.

Together we have experienced medicine change drastically over the last decade, as physicians struggle to manage immense patient panels. The increasingly complex demands of medical bureaucracy have impacted the ability of physicians to build meaningful relationships with their patients. We have witnessed patients grow accustomed to not knowing their doctors and struggle to navigate the medical system during their time of need.

At KEY MD Newport Beach, we are dedicated to creating better health outcomes by building deeper and long-lasting connections with our smaller patient panel. In part, this is achieved by incorporating an annual and follow-up routine exam model, but aimed to enhance and emphasize prevention, rather than reaction to illness. Our exams are not based on medical necessity, but instead, designed to proactively help you achieve your maximum best health care outcomes with ongoing monitoring and support. Patient exams are supported year-long with ongoing 24/7 communication and connection to your healthcare professional. This whole patient model, over 100 years old in the US, has a proven track record of keeping people alive and healthy, for as long and as much as possible. You can have that executive style of healthcare support, too.
